But I just bought a set of 4 2002 Durango 16" Wheels and 265/75r16 tires and put them on my 2000 Durango. When I bought my Durango it had 235/75r15's on it. Tire Rack and the dealer said that the 31x10.5x15 were an aternate oem tire size. the 265/75r16's are actualy 31.8x10.5x16. If im correct the size up in rim. And the .8" shouldn't effect my tranny or 4wd or gearing right?

Don't be so cynical.

The change from your 235/75R-15's to the new 265/75R-16's shouldn't affect your tranny or 4WD, but this is a larger overall diameter set-up. I assume the body clearances are ok for wheel-lock turning, etc.

Anyway, your speedometer will now be off by almost 10% (will read slower than you are actually going).

There are many tire/wheel calculators that give this kind of information. Try this one for example:

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit

By the way, from your profile I see you're located in Michigan, you've just listed the wrong zip code.
