Fan SwitchSkrilla75 11-25-2008, 11:15 PM I just bought a 95 Metro and at first the fan only worked in the higest setting now it doesnt work at all when I try it.Is it the fan itself, the switch,a relay? Thanks Sean Scrapper 11-25-2008, 11:44 PM i think it's your whole switch that needs replaced because if it would only work on high but then again may be your heater moter. you got three settings on that one switch right? Skrilla75 11-26-2008, 03:22 AM I dont even know how many setting there is because the switch doesnt realy click into a position just kind of slides. Johnny Mullet 11-26-2008, 06:24 AM The fan switches are known to melt on these cars. Mine melted. Woodie83 11-26-2008, 06:54 AM A lot of the time, they just fall apart. The plastic housing is two pieces that snap together, the snappy bits lose their flexibility and fail under the spring tension. In many cases, you can squeeze it back together and smear some epoxy on the sides to hold it together, I've also seen a zip tie as a pemanent solution. Remove the glovebox, reach around there and hold it together while trying it, if the clicks come back and it works, you just need to glue or clamp it. Skrilla75 11-26-2008, 12:45 PM Thanks guys Iam going to try that~If I cant anyone know I good place to source a new switch? Skrilla75 11-26-2008, 03:42 PM Quick update.the switch wasnt making good contact so I just taped it and it added some pressure now she works~ :) MrPink 12-06-2008, 08:24 PM Not.... for long. <grin> -Pink vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
