cooling fan wont turn off.moms van 11-25-2008, 07:00 PM First of all i searched the posts and could not find any info on this subject. I have a 97 villager and just recently replaced the timing belt and waterpump, after i got all back together i noticed the cooling fan is not shutting off, someone told me that if the coolant systems was not bleed correctly this could cause this problem,so i made sure and it is fine, so next step i put in a new temperature sensor and still the fan runs, well im out of ideas, so if anyone has suggestions please write back. thank you, Dave. P.S. buy the way i believe this problem was before the work because the connector where the fan is looked a little melted, and i did repair that. tempfixit 11-26-2008, 04:41 PM First of all i searched the posts and could not find any info on this subject. Have you checked the 1 low fan relay, and 2 hi speed fan relays? The burn't wire connector you repaired may have fried the ECM, hopefully not. Read the thread below I believe it will help you very much. One of the people in the below thread disconncected his ECM, waited a few minutes and reconnected it and it rebooted the ECM and fan operated normally since. Here is a thread in another forum that talks about the same problem: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/villagerquest/message/39913 If you can not get the thread you may have to register but do not frett it is also free. villager/quest@yahoogroups.com. It also has a file in it that has many posts on different itemes on the villager/quest. You can also do a search in that forum which will give you some differnt ideas to check.
