I bought a 87 blazer full size for my duaghter and been given it a better tune up then the so called mechanic the people had it go to before.I found spark plugs gap at .25 and the pvc plugged, ox sensor bad,oil lines bad, power steering bad, shocks bad,air cleaner filter with dirt in it,tbi really dirty, stabilizer bad,The good thing is the oil was changed all the time and no smoke and in good shape. After cleaning up all these things and replacing parts the only thing left is fuel filter. My question is do you guys think when it is cold first starting up it is hard to start once warmed up it does fine starting.Could this be a map sensor, knock sensor or you think just changing the fuel filter will make the diferance. It will be a week before my friends gives back my code reader and was wondering what you guys think before weeks up to get ahead start on it.I am sure there might be other sensors but is your guys best guess.

Fuel filter should be check first thing.
And check fuel pressure.
Have you checked base timing?
Good Ac delco plugs?
Good hot blue spark to all plugs?
And if any codes post back code no.

I have not check timing yet but found that previous mech from paper work had problem with pinging put at -2 then went back to 0 not sure if he replaced one of the sensors or found problem.I will change cap and rotor also. Will get back to you on codes. Thanks Alan

Just wanted to let everyone know no codes showed up! I did change fuel filter and found particles in it.Plus after changing wires and cap/rotor and oil with everything else changed out it is running great and starts good.Fuel was the problem in hard starting as you have said.Oil lines were also leaking and replaced those also. Now after replacing all the shocks, powersteering pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil, air filter,ox sensor, cleaned up throtle body, pvc, hoses, belt, etc bought it for 1500.00 put 1000.00 into it runs and rides like a champ and still looks good and I am sure I will be adding more to it since my daughter knows how I am with cars and such. There so called mechanic that they trusted suck them dry and did not know what he was doing. Now I know there are great ones out there but the guy who worked on this one,was not very good. I am shocked it passed smog!!! Thanks for your help!!
