The brakes on the intrepid went Kaput, right down to the floor no pressure and the oil was leaking on our driveway.

We took the baby to a well known named car repair franchise and they gave us an estimate for 800$ as the brake wire lines were coroded and the car is 1995 so its time consuming..... etc. etc. we said its not worth it and paid them 29$ for their research charges.

Just out of curiousity we took the car to a local garage without a franchise he told us the same thing brake lines are caroded its an old car so will take more time and asked for 200$ :banghead: including an oil change!

Just because they have a flag and a carry a franchise name 600$ more?

This is why it pays to shop around for car repairs. This is pretty common.

The bigger shop the bigger rip off. Do it yourself, parts will cost probably 15 doll.
