Tell me what's going on here(clutch related?)

Recently I just replaced my hydraulic clutch line because it broke. Anyway, afterwards, everything was going fine. I've been running the car for about a week now and everything has been great until today. I go out and head for work. Shift into 1-2-3-4 perfect, everything is normal. Now I'm prepping to shift into 5th. I usually shift into 5th at about 40mph with no engine bogging. Well, at 40mph I shift into 5th and then rpms drop to about 1500 and the engine bogs. And it continues bogging until I hit about 55mph, then it seems to be okay, just lower RPMs than usual.

So after work, I did a little testing on the way home. I stop on an empty street and let off the gas, I was able to launch from 1,2,3 without any gas whatsoever. 4th gear made the car jerk and buck and i didn't want to do any damage so I bailed out on that. Then I as I was leaving I noticed that my car wasn't even telling me to upshift from 4th to 5th until about 55mph.

Ultimately, the clutch doesn't feel any different. Engage point is fine, doesn't seem to be slipping(actually the opposite really). So, what could cause this? Bad gas, cold? I'm utterly confused here. I just always thought if the clutch was going bad that rpms should be higher than normal with little acceleration.

If you filled up right before this happened, possibly bad gas, but I wouldn't expect it.

It would have to be VERY cold for a moderm fuel injected engine to do that because it's cold. Another possibility would be the PCM seeing the wrong temperature and leaning out or runing rich. A bad MAP sensor/hose could do the same thing. Very common on the 2.4. What engine/year?

Any codes?

'05 Cav 2.2 Ecotech. Problem is still persisting, but if this is something that really damage any components of the car I don't mind running in 4th until I hit 50mph. We just put in a new fuel filter about a month ago so I don't see how that could possibly be the problem either. Also, no codes, no check engine light, nothing.

It doesn't sound like anything to do with the clutch. Did you disturb or damage any wiring or a sensor when you replaced the clutch line.

The engine revs are still the same as before when you shift into 5th gear. If the revs appear different on the gauge then there may be a clue. The engine rpm may not being reported correctly and this would mess the ignition timing. If this happened then the car would not pull well at low rpm's. Just a theory but a place to start with your diagnostics. Can you put a timing light on the engine? Can you check that rpm gauge against something else.
