ok heres what i got going on:

i just bought a K&N intake for my 96 Cougar. The kit obvisouly gets rid of the air filter box which the air temp sensor snaps into. without the box it doesnt have anywhere to plug into but the kit does come with a mounting bracket for the sensor but the sensor doesnt look like it goes inside the filter so i am curious does the sensor just mount right outside the filter were it can still accurately monitor the air temp? I want to ask around before i go tearing into it and find out its wrong. Any advice would be great.
