I have a 90 accord automatic 220k with new spark plugs, wires, cap, air filter and transmission fluid. on the way home it died before it died it sputtered like it was out of gas but it still has around a quarter of a tank. it will turn over and over and over and over and at one time it tried to start again and sputtered and then died again and just turns over it also has a new alternator and battery. very weird have never had a car just die when driving home unless its out of gas..

please help..

thanks

Not enough to go on...at that mileage could be anything.

Timing belt
Ignitor
Relay
Ignition switch
Fuel pump
Distributor failure
PCM
CKP
...or any of about several dozen other scenarios...

Would need some specific info about presence of spark, compression, fuel pressure, etc...

Also note if the idiot lights go out when the key is at rest in the "run" position...and if they come back on if you roll the key slightly one way or the other...a dead giveaway of a bad ignition switch...

I guess the most basic thing you could do real easily is buy a can of starting fluid, shoot it in the intake and see if she'll fire on that...if so, you have eliminated spark or valve timing issues, and can focus on fuel delivery problems...
