1999 2.0 5 speed Beetle When Starting cold It will not idle. But once it is warm it will idle all day and not have any problems?
Also when driving it cuts out, and chugs like it a vehicle in over drive at 20 mph. but it happens at at different speeds different gears.

could be your timing. but i would check all vaccum hoses. and whens the last time you done a tune up and change gas and air filter?

The timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, were all just replaced. Feul filter hasn't been replaced, I think the MAF needs replaced, it also has 146,000 miles
