I have a 93 camry that won't shift out of park. I read that it could be the brake switch, but brake lights work. Any other ideas?

First, you can override the problem component by prying up the cover on the Shift Lock Override Button and pressing the button by inserting a small screwdriver. The cover is above the gear shift position indicator next to the gear shift.

It could be any of three or four components. Assuming you have the 4-cylinder engine, access the Toyota AT repair manual here (http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen3/ax1.pdf).

Follow the troubleshooting instructions starting on page AX1-36. If you bring your car to a mechanic, print them and bring these pages with you.
