I had a faulty passenger side rear ABS sensor on my 1996 Camry, so I replaced it with a new one from Standard Motor Products.

Now I have another issue. It's not throwing a code or anything, but the ABS kicks in on that wheel whenever I press the brakes.
I'm not sliding or anything, and the ABS only kicks in on that wheel.

Is there any way I could fix this? What could cause the problem.

This is getting so annoying i'm about to disable the ABS.

Give your VIN to a Toyota parts department and get a part number for the sensor. Then make sure you get the correct sensor. You may have the wrong part or it may be defective. It is definetly not working correctly.

Turns out it isn't the sensor.

ABS popped another code up, code 27, rear abs rotor malfunction. Which is probably causing the sensor to read wrong.

I guess I'll have to replace the hub.

I must be missing something here. The '96 Camry FSM doesn't have a DTC 27 listed. Did you mean DTC 37?

If so, DTC 37 (Faulty one of 4 speed sensor rotors) can be the rotor, sensor, wiring harness, tires, or ECU. In your case, probably the sensor. It would pay to check out everything before you replace the rotor.
