Want To Wire Alternator To The Battery

I have a 1990 Sentra and is located in Mexico. A decent automotive store is non existent here. I just replaced the alternator, bringing it with me from the USA when I flew back. Everything worked fine for two weeks and it went bad. From my own personal experience, bad new alternators are not uncommon. I began searching the internet for any information that might improve my next installation when I bring "another" one, the next time. A few auto sites have stated that to rule out wiring harness issues on vehicles over 10 years old that may effect an alternator, is to add Direct Cables from the battery to the alternator.

This is very basic for anyone with automotive electric experience but I'm not one of them.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would not suggest the direct wiring as it will bypass a lot of safety devices which can be harmful. Remember the current from the alternator is conditioned before it is fed into battery, if you feed the battery directly it may be even harmful for the battery.
