97 Lumina remote trunk button

Hello I have a 97 Lumina. The keychain trunk button has stopped working. I replaced the battery, and cleaned all the contacts. The glove box button works just fine. Is there a lockout somewhere that I am missing?

Does the remote release operate with either of the transmitters?

I only have the one remote for this car.
