Load leveling

What can anyone tell me about the load leveling on a 2003 montana? Had it up in the air today and noticed the lever was broken off, does anyone have a wiring diagram for it? Might be time to set it up manually if I can't find one at the wreckers. Thanks

Well after checking many wrecking yards and only find one kind of sensor for this and its not the one that is on mine, I went to the dealer, all the info he has shows that some sensor or control unit, it is fairly thick and has the wires come out the back side of it and they go to some kind of a pigtail with a connector on it. The one that is on mine is pretty thin, about 2/3 to 1/2 the thickness, there is no pigtail of wires on the unit. There is a receptacle on the bottom of mine where an 8 pin plug goes into, the ones from the yards I have been shown never have an end on them, the wires are just cut and only contains 6 wires. Any ideas or wire of this thing so maybe I can bypass it with a switch or two? Thanks

OK, I'm confused.

You mention that the 'lever' is broken off...is it the one on the control unit, or is it the link that goes from the control unit lever to the transverse stabilizer on the rear axle?

If the lever on the unit is broken, is it reasonable to assume you can remove your own unit and work with it on the bench. Does it look like you might be able to re-attach the lever using some mechanical means (ie.: tap for a small bolt or screw and reattach the lever).

If the link between the axle and the control unit lever is broken, you can repair it if you have some crazy glue and some of those nylon ties used to bundle wires together. The ties have a name, but it escapes me at present.

My link was broken (the plastic pivot sockets had broken off the ends of the steel rod) due to the pivot balls rusting up. (There is one pivot on the lever on the control unit and one attached to the transverse stabilizer).

I cleaned the pivot balls with sand paper and then used some dielectric grease on them. Then I reattached the broken plastic ends with crazy glue and two of those ties on either end.

One tie was cut to create a U-shaped reinforcement that went around the end of the broken plastic piece to hold it in place and the second tie went around the first to hold it tightly to the steel rod and keep everything from pulling apart. Then I used high temp melt glue and glued everything back together.

It's not beautiful, but it works.

Snapped the rod back on the pivot balls and was in business again. That was three years ago.

Ok you must have a different unit than the one on my 2003, the ones I found in the wrecking yards I can take the lever that is on the unit and turn it in a circle, whats under it I have no idea. On mine the lever on the unit itself is broken off, what holds it on the unit I have no idea, all I was left with was the lever and the shaft attached to the axel and the unit itself, I stuck it back on the unit but there is nothing to hold it there. The was a white shaft sticking out of the center of the unit, looked like the control of a variable resister but it had something stuck in the slot of it, we could not turn it so we figured it was busted up inside or corroded. We poped out what we thought was a thin hunk of plastic, turns out it was ceramic, had some numbers on it,and 4 leads off the end of it going into the center of this white thing that looked like the control of a variable resistor. This thing also looked like there was other stuff that was broken off from it. I was hoping to turn it up a little to put a little more air in the shocks but that isn't going to happen.

Well I found a unit at the dealer, $400, they are out of their minds. Anyway its from a 2004-2009 even though my van is a 2003.
