99 Cabrio - Water collecting on the floorboardWelvis 11-10-2008, 02:19 PM When raining, even lightly, my Cabby is taking on water! I've inspected the weather stripping around the convertible top and even spent a good 15-30 minutes sitting in my vehicle when raining and I have yet to see any evidence of leakage around the top. No dripping whatsoever. I cannot see the source of the leak but, water slowly pools from below in the passenger's back seat floorboard. It doesn't occur anywhere else in the vehicle. It's like I'm out at sea and somehow I have a hole in my Cabby boat. The carpet doesn't feel wet anywhere above the pool, not even near the bottom of the passenger door. I am perplexed, and a little weary of the constant vacuuming. If anyone has any insight as to how this may be happening or suggestion as to what I can look for, I would be ever so thankful. veedubmechanic 11-10-2008, 07:57 PM under the car there are body plugs, I would reccomend poking a hole in each one to help drain for now. As far as the leak, cant really help you there. Welvis 11-12-2008, 07:16 PM Thanks, I will make the holes. What size of hole would you recommend? veedubmechanic 11-16-2008, 09:21 AM small, like a pen tip sized hole Welvis 11-16-2008, 03:26 PM Thanks again, I'll report the findings when it rains next time. JasonCardFan 12-11-2008, 10:50 AM I have the same problem in my 02 Impala. The water seems to come up from underneath. For a few weeks before water started collecting in the rear floorboard, I could hear it slushing around when I hit the brakes quickly. Sounded like it was coming from inside the rear passenger door or under the cabin on that side. All the seals around my doors look good, and like your problem, it seems to be coming up from underneath because the sides of the floorboard around it are dry. I'll look for the plugs when I get home, but just wanted to see if you had noticed the sound of water slushing around inside your car. Sounds like making a hole is a temporary fix. Any ideas on a permanent fix, or could it be a number of things that needs to be looked at personally? Thanks, Jason Oslek2000 04-19-2009, 12:28 PM Hello, I have a 1998 Cabrio GL with a problem of water pooling on the front passenger side floor. Could it come from the air conditioner? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
