I recently purchased a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4X4. The other day the 4 wheel drive light came on and only goes off when you step on the brake. Can anyone tell me what may be causing this light to stay on?:banghead:

whats it do when you don't have it in 4 wheel drive? i'm thinking the switch on the brake pedal.

It seemd to drive fine when not in 4 wheel drive. The light stays on though and goes out when you step on the brake and then comes back on when you take your foot off the brake. I will check for a switch on the brake.

Check the vacuum lines going to the CAD unit on the passenger side of the front axle.
