2000 Lanos Heater control panel

My girlfriends Lanos will not switch where the air is blowing out of. I think something must have come un connected from the selector knob. Can someone tell me how to get the control panel out with out just tearing out half of the dash. Let me know if you have done it or had the same issue and what you did to fix it. Thanks.
