Meaning the following: 1) New plugs, properly gapped. 2) Check or replace the spark plug wires. 3) Clean or replace the cap and rotor. Remove all oxidation crust from the terminal posts and contacts. 4) Check and adjust the ignition timing. 5) Clean or replace the PCV valve. 6) Clean the EGR valve or replace if it isn't refurbishable (pricey, be careful!) 7) Use some Seafoam or similar engine cleaner to dissolve carbon deposits. 8) Check/change the oil/filter. 9) Check/change the air filer. 10) Check/change the tranny fluid & filter. Try these first before blowing money on a hunch. Hope this helps! 2budzracing 11-01-2008, 09:04 PM man i guess i'm not alone on this mystery of the dredded 94 camry that messes up syndrome thanks for all the advise but "been there done that already" i even ohmed out the coolant sensor and it was cool now i'm going bald from tuggin on the grey stuff on my noggin !new cat 250.00 toy,new tps 115 toy, checked resonator -ok- no codes-with or w/o scanner 2k to 3k rpms a little better but still acts like a rev limiter kicking in after 3k rpms it comes right back up on the pipe...??? 2budzracing 11-03-2008, 03:45 PM welcome to the world of 94 camry malfuntions..them dudes glue the magnets in the distributor magnets into to pick-up guess what ,the bottom ones come loose from heat and leaky v/c gaskets .that can really mess with the ecm.you can't really see it w/o takeing the dist. out.this design has a lot of easy faults and is not serviceble! new from toy.450.00 rebuilt 200.00ish it is truely a piece of .... design ! how can you expect glue to hold in heat conditions...I found one in a junk yard for 85$ how much longer it will last I don't know.just a heads up's on my headache thanks guys.  somick 11-04-2008, 11:33 AM I am glad you found your problem! Not that many american cars of that age are on the road now. Sam 2budzracing 11-04-2008, 01:30 PM hey come on now most ofthe custom cars i build are 60's-70's muscle stuff atleast i know most of the factors that involve the ignition system cause i upgrade them.this one was kinda a learning challenge but i found out i really don't wanna go through this crap again !although i must admit it taught me a small lesson that even though you can repair anyting those ghosts are still there.unfortunatly snap-on does have cameras to find them guys......... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
