Very weird problem. 1990 Honda Accord won’t start, most of the time. At times (when it won’t start) the front flashers go off – almost as if alarm system is locking down the ignition. Had an alarm system installed a long time ago which hasn’t worked for some time?

Power is fine, Battery is strong and changed out alternator, plugs and wire cables approx 6 mths ago. Starter is fine since the car does start at times. No turnover at all when car won’t start.

Any idea’s – apprears to be electrical but no idea where to start.

I would start with checking battery connections. Check grounds throughout the car. If/when there is no ground the current looks for different paths.

I have seen grounding points locations at FSM. Do not remember where, but it was in one of files I found online.

Good luck,

Sam

Sounds like your alarm system is partially working. Because each one is unique in how it effects the car, the only real way to solve this problem is to back out the alarm system to make a stock car. Then we may be able to help you.
