"3rd generation" 4wd system?

I've read the detailed descriptions of the 2nd generation Blazer/Jimmy 4wd operating systems (vaccuum hoses, encoder motor, TCCM, etc.). But my 2005 Jimmy has no vaccuum hoses. I'm told that the 2005's rely on some sort of thermal system in which a electical element heats up and melts wax inside the axel. Can sombody please explain to me how this works? Thanks!:smile:

What transfer case does it have?

How many wires on the front axel actuator motor?
Does it kick in as soon as you put it in 4 W?
