I have determined that water is leaking out of the steel tube connected to the back of the water pump.
Questions?
1. How is that attached to the water pump?
2. How do I get to this part. It seems to be buried under the cylinder head. Do I have to remove the plate that's attached to the front of the engine to remove and repair the leak.

The O-ring is leaking. There are 2 10MM bolts holding the tube. One under the TB and the other on the side of the trans. Pull the tube out and replace the O-ring. Be sure to lube the O-ring before installing.

Thanks Johnny. This one stumped me. It's very hard to get to and I haven't seen any articles concerning this issue.

Got the tube repaired, It took 3 trys with different "O" rings to get it sealed. BUT...discovered another problem...The head is also leaking. Question? What are the concequences of letting this go. And, what should I do now and i the future?

If you love the fuel savings from this car, I suggest getting.............

Head gasket KIT
Timing Belt
Timing Belt Tensioner
Water Pump

The job can be done at home with basic tools. We can also help.

Johnny, should I wait until it gets worse? What are the signs of it going south?

If you drive short distances with it, then monitor the oil and coolant and run it until it gets real bad. After that, ship the car to me in Ohio and I will make it live forever!
