"What to look for" 1993 Toyota PickupClone933 10-23-2008, 11:30 PM I am going this weekend to look at a used 1993 Toyota Pickup with 176,000 miles. What are things to check on this model besides the normal wreck check? I have done my research and know there is a steering recall, and so I will be checking for this. Any advice and opinions are welcome. Clone933 10-24-2008, 11:32 AM I forgot to add, this is the "Pickup Dx" with automatic transmission and has the 2.4L 22R-E engine. fourwd1 10-27-2008, 11:40 AM Depending on where you are, a big problem is frame rust. They rust from the inside out, so you can't see it until it's bad. mushroom-eater 10-28-2008, 07:11 AM i really want to know the things to consider when buying used cars. can anyone help me on this? quickywd01 10-28-2008, 10:42 AM Check for recalls. Go online and search google for problems with those vehicles. Like for my truck I now know there was a headgasket recall and a steering recall. I also know rust was a big issue. Then I found out about the starter contacts. The easiest thing to do is to go to a search engine like google and type in the vehicle and a key word like problems. The next best thing is to search forums. i really want to know the things to consider when buying used cars. can anyone help me on this? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
