KYB or Toyota mounts

After searching through numerous threads I am still trying to find the answer.

Started hearing the dreaded rear clunking noise in the rear of my 04 Camry, 55,000 miles. Took it in and they confirmed my worst suspicion. A bad strut mount. Having a 97 Camry I knew the noise. Just surprised at such low mileage, but even Toyota is subject to quality issues :evillol:

I plan on having the car to at least 150,000 miles or more. Has anyone replaced with the KYB mounts? Are they ok or should I just spend the extra $100 and get the mounts from Toyota? I don’t think I will do the struts yet as they still feel fine.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks for viewing.

Well, since no one seems to want to give you an opinion, I'd say that it would be hard to justify spending the extra money on a structural part. Without knowing anything about the KYB mounts, I would say they can't be too much different from the Toyota mount. I would buy them instead of the Toyota.

(Just my humble uninformed opinion)

KYB is actually a performance brand name.
The KYB mounts will be of better quality.
