First, a little about myself. I've been building for about 16 years. I started when I was 8 and now I'm 24. I took some time off. But now I've decided to get back into it. It really is a fun hobby especially for the long New England winter when all the real car stuff has gone into hibernation.

I have become a fan of the New, yet remake of a BBC show, "Life on Mars" which is on thursday nights. Its a about a cop who gets hit by a car and wakes up in 1973. So his 1973 is a classic Chevelle. I thought what better way to get back into the hobby than to build a nice simple old AMT kit. I mostly build Japanese cars. Since thats my favorite genre of cars. Any way here are the work in progress pics. I plan on finishing it out with some Keith Marks Decals and a Gumdrop police light.

Looking good so far. I built one of these fairly recently and there are a number of things to consider to get a convincing result. (please see my completed and WIP threads for details). Hopefully it will assist your build.

One thing to note is that the car featured in the show is actually a '71 Chevelle..

Other than the corner markers is there much of a difference? I cant say as I have noticed.

Looks like it sits a wee bit high in the front, might look better with the front end put together though.

Its not enought of a difference for me to care, the kit is just going to sit on my self. Viccario I read through your posts. That was nice kit you put together. I'm gonna turn this into a curb side. I can't stand these early AMT kits the engine compartment on the this one is so dull. And kind of like the TV show you'll never see the engine in mine.

The only differences are the split front corner lenses and that the grille is slightly different. Both could be relatively easily modded..
