I just bought a 1996 Sable wagon with tranny problems. I plan to replace the tranny but need to know what tranny will interchange with the Duratech motor. Are the trannys all the same or does it have to come out of a car equipped with the Duratech? TIA

1996 is by itself and most Ford transaxles are one year interchange.Ford loves doing 6 month changes.Call a wrecking yard to check this out,should have an interchange book called a Hollander.
