i have an 87 cougar 20th anniversary edition with an electronic instrument cluster and the speedometer on it and the gauge cluster works but the fuel computer dosen't. thats with the lights off. when the lights are on, the whole cluster turns off completely. i had an 87 with the same problem a few years ago and it was a fusible link wire located in the engine harness, however i tested most of the wires this time and they all are getting juice. if anyone has any idea what it could be it would be appreciated:banghead:

When you say they are not working do you mean you can't see them? If so you need to change the bulbs. These are halogen bulbs and i used to get them from the dealer, but i have not replaced them in a while.

my first 85 went out poof! all the bulbs blew at once ...

i had the same problem check your fuses under the dash if not that there is a green wire with a yellow stripe if that gets shorted out your dash lights wont work if this isnt detailed enough check out this site its deticated to cougars coolcats.net thats where i get all my info about my cougar
