A buddy of mine has a 2000 Jimmy and just told me about something called a IAT sensor mod. He said that all you need to do is remove the IAT sensor wire and put a resistor in the housing so that the signal loops back on itself. Supposedly, this will trick the computer making it seem like the air is always cool and modify the fuel mixture. That's they way he explained it and it looked it up on the net and alot of people have had success with it. My question is can this cause any engine damage? I have 170K KM on the engine? Most would say that i should just let my buddy mod his truck and if it works i will do mine, but i can't do that.

Honestly you will not notice a difference from that mod, maybe 1hp.
