01 blazer parking brake stuck on!!car4685 10-17-2008, 01:54 AM hey, I pushed down on the pedel and when I tryed to release it it stayed down. The release cable may be stuck? The lever just moves in and out kind of floppy...So could someone try and help me out. A friend of mine told me to cut the cable under the truck..I know that would release the brake but I think the pedal will still stay down, besause it clicks as it goes down to lock it, right? I would like to try somthing before I buy new cables and all that. thanks again. 2kTrailBlazer 10-18-2008, 09:18 PM if you look up under tha dash you will see a lever where the cable hooks to.(should look like how a brake line hooks up to the handle on a bike) see if maybe that came out. you may have to remove some panels to see it. look up and directly behind the release cable car4685 10-20-2008, 12:15 AM dude, thanks a bunch, I got my hand in there and pulled on the lever and got it to come up. The cable for the return broke, I was able to find what it was hooked to and pull on it. Scrapper 10-20-2008, 12:49 AM when you jam on the parking brake thats why they wont release the cable will eather brake or come out like it did this time. the cable never broke it came out of the bracket so what i'm saying push it on just until it will stop it if you use it unless you want to take litheum grease and put on lines and you might want to take rear wheels off and work back shoe back and forth because thats where cable hooks up. OIL that also. but you can try ajusting e-brake also just to see if cables are bad. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
