my buddy has a 93 tracr and he blew a timing belt, i do not think it is an interference engine. so he got another belt, we set timing marks to 12 o'clock 12 o'clock, crank and cam. oh, SOHC 1.6L engine, the distibutor does not line up with #1 plug wire???? the firing order is i believe 1-3-4-2. whats going on with this thing, got us both p.o.'d
sometimes it will fire up for a sec but usually just cranks over and does nothing. PLLEEAASE HELP
thanks, chris

to dead time a 93 tracker with a 1.6 SOHC Set #1 cyl. at TDC, set the cam on the mark behind the pulley. basicly, the crank is set at 12 o'clock and the cam is set at 12 o'clock, heres were it gets weird, set the distributor rotor on the #4 post on the cap. firing order is 1-3-4-2.
try this if you are having problems getting your tracr running AFTER blowing a timing belt.
hope this helps someone , i worked for me, i have a couple of extra grey hairs now
