when i first got my car out of the shop my locks worked to a perfection. last month i pressed the lock button and my locks started unlocking and locking at a very fast pace and after about 10 seconds of it doing that myautomatic locks have never worked for anything. couple weeks ago i took out the fuse for my locks to see if it was blown and it wasnt so i wanted to see if the locks worked again and kept the fuse out. They didnt when i pressed the button but when i put her in gear they automatically locked as well as unlocking when the car was turned off.

has anyone had this problem, how did you fix it, or any ideas on what the problem could be.

You may have a bad relay that controls them, The power locks relay is usually located behind the upper kick panel in the passenger side foot well..
Also you may have a short somewhere.

Is your main problem that you cant lock and unlock with the button, just the automatic locks with you shift from park into drive and such?

yeah it might not sound like a big problem but it is becuase when i have that fuse in it just drains my battery.

if leaving the fuse in drains your battery, there is something wrong, most likely a short somewhere in the circuit, you can get wiring diagrams and check it all out with a meter and such. its unlikely the relays considering it still works with the shifter...

in my opinion if you really want to fix it...then start checking wires for cuts in the insulation or broken wires.

engine knock isn't a good thing, no one likes that. I would recommend to first check the oil pressure, maybe even change it. How long has it been since your last change? also when you run the engine, listen to it, open the hood and try to find where its comming from, get a good idea maybe you can narrow some things down. Let me know how it all goes thus far.

Also you may want to start a new thread, more likely to get other people to see it and get more answers.
