200hp V6, VIN codeBlt2Lst 10-16-2008, 02:01 PM Can anyone tell me which character of the VIN # Ford uses to denote the 200hp V6 in 04 thru 07 Taurus's. I know that Gm's have the engine code as the eigth character in the VIN, not sure about Fords. Thanks for the help. Al :smokin:  way2old 10-16-2008, 02:52 PM It is also the 8th number. According to the list "U" is a 3.0L V6 but it does not state which HP version it is. Am I missing something? How can you tell which version it is. Thanks again for the help. Maybe I should ask the question this way. Which model of the Taurus comes with the 200HP V6? SE SES SEL wagon or sedan? It could be available in all models for all I know.
