This is my new project:

The Revell/Monogram 1964 Pontiac GTO

I will make a cleanlook on this car. So no open hood with airintake or something. Just clean and low.

The wheels are not my style, so I changed them. I used 2 sets of wheels and combinated these together. The rims are from aluminium and the inner hart is from an other wheel.

I think they look great.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_007_%28Medium%29.jpg

I also removed the upscripts on the body, and the doorhandles. I also will make a 2 door hardtop instead of the 2 door coupe. (no B pillars)

The color is not chosen yet, but I think I'll find a nice color for it.

Alright the first update!

First I had to choose which body I wanted to build. I had 2 versions.

This is the original body:

And this after cutting out the B-pillars etc.

I also removed the logo's and upscripts on the body. After that I primed the body, and painted it TS-12 Orange. Yesterday I putted some decals on it.

I also started on the engine. I painted it already.

Looks good, I love the rims!!! I like the Dougs headers sticker on the fender, but the MR Gasket looks funny in that spot. Looks to high.

Last days I worked on the BMF for the body.

It's always a hard job, but this kit has some great windowtrims, so it was quite easy this time :)

Today I clearcoated the body.

First 2 layers of Pearl Clear, and after that 2 layers of normal Clear.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/pearl_clear_004_%28Medium%29.jpg

I also went further with the engine. I added some parts on it, and kept it stock. Except for the sprarkplugwire. I first drilled the holes (0.5mm) and after I had glued the wire, I added small pieces of black tube over the wire. Now it looks like the sparkplug rubber (don't know the name).

I'll now go further with the chassis. This needs some modifications for the aftermarket rims.

I also don't know wat colour I shoud paint the wheels. Keep it chrome, or paint the spokes in black or gunmetal.

Great job, and great pics as well!! I always wanted to see this car built like the box, it looks apealing to me for some reason. Keep it up.

I built it like the box art, like 3 1/2 years ago...lol It looks kinda bad because back then I was kinda new to modeling. I'll try and get pics of it.

Looking good! I built one of these a few years ago, in a very similar colour - my paint wasn't as nice as yours though as it was my first proper attempt at spraying bodywork. Can't wait to see more :D

Very tempted to build another, but this time a convertible like the one my grandfather used to have :smokin:

I've done some work a couple days ago.

I started with the bumpers and grill.

The chrome was badly damaged so I had to do something with that. I have no airbrush, so Aclad paint coud not be used, and the chrome spraycans are also not the chrome I want.

So I decided to paint the half with semigloss black. Maybe it's not the nicest solution, but I think it looks good instead of a damaged bumper :)

I also had give the grille a black wash and added the frontlights.

The numperplate is proved by an PE licenseplat holder.

I also did the same with the rearbumper.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_enzo_002~1.jpg

The spokes of the wheels are painted in TS-Gun Metal. No clear is used, because I wanted a semigloss finish.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/interieur_enzo_003~1.jpg

Moved on to the interior.
It was hard for me to make a nice colorcombi, because I'm colorblind. But I think these colors looks good with the bodycolor.

I used 2 different colors of brown.
The interior also got some chrome/silver painted details.

The seats are from a modern car. (I think a Nissan)

The steering wheels is from an older muscle car, and I drilled out the smalle holes in the spokes.

The carpet is from Hiroboy, and are Light Buff colored.

I placed some details like an old AMT modelkit and a Pontiac magazine.

I also added PE windowcranks for Detail Master.

This week I finished the chassis.

First I painted it, and lowered the suspension. I modified the wheels to fit in the mudguards and I also polished the aluminium wheeltrim.

The exhaust are also changed. Normally the exhausts ends behind the rearwheels. I decided to end them under the rearbumper. I also used aluminium exhausttips.

I also painted all parts in the enginebay before the engine could be placed. I searched on the internet where the bobine is placed but I couldn't find it, so I decided to make my own one and putted it an the firewall.

And after placing the chassis and polishin I finished this kit.

Here's a sneak preview. For more pics, look at the completed section.
