Help! I need a new cat converter for my '01 VW Passat V6 4 motion, and I have no idea which kind to get. The dealership quoted me around $2200 altogether from both left and right converters. Obviously, that's going to be the higher than average. I looked on jcwhitney.com and found some between $55-$300. It said they'd fit an 01 passat also. I just don't want to pay more than I need to, but also find something that works. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try your local muffler shop. They have universal cats for around $150 -$250 installed. Since you need two, try to bargain as low as you can or have them throw in some chrome tips. Ask not! Receive Not!:tongue:

they quoted me 350.00 for the right cat on my 00 a6 4.2 v8. Audi quoted me 1500.00 for one from them.
