I think they are electrically operated at this time. http://www.ebay.com/ has numerous speedometer clusters for $50.00 and under. The unit on the transmission try Ford parts department. Pull the electrical connection and put an ohm meter on it. The ohm reading should go from zero to one. Put the car on 4 jack stands and run about 5 mpg for the test. If by chance it has a cable look on the transmission also near the drive axle. mightymoose_22 10-11-2008, 09:53 PM You will find the speedo cable running from the firewall just above the area of the pedals and down to the transmission. There is a clip that needs to be removed from where the speedo goes into the transmission and it will pull right out. trailmaker73 10-12-2008, 07:59 AM thanks i will look around the tranny and stuff to see if i can locate it. greatly appreciated AzTumbleweed 10-12-2008, 11:35 AM I think you'll need a 10mm socket. trailmaker73 10-12-2008, 01:16 PM thanks for the help everyone. found where it was on the tranny pulled 1 pin and fed it thru the firewall then installed in reverse order. works fine now. thanks for all your help vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
