2000 4.8L Sierra questiondannyo210 10-10-2008, 05:37 PM Hi, I just replaced the thermostat in my 2000 4.8L Sierra, following the Haynes manual. I am still having issues with the engine overheating however, and I believe there is air in the system. I was hoping somebody has an easy solution to bleeding the coolant system to relieve the air, so I will not have to spend another $25 on DEXCOOL after draining it all again. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks maxwedge 10-10-2008, 08:01 PM Welcome to AF, not sure if there are bleeders, I don't think so, but you could jack up the front end as high as you can safely, leave the cap off overnite, say, this should purge the air. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
