I've had this problem for quite some time. I change out fan relay and thermostat as well. I did this before I purchased my scanner. Got code P0480, what do I do? Can some give me tips on how troubleshoot codes.

Welcome to AF.
Does cooling fan #1 even work? This DTC is associated with an output driver electrical integrity problem at the PCM module level. The output state is invalid.

UPDATE:
I checked both fans, by passing and hooking it up directly to the battery. Both work. I also rescanned and the code reset. PCM module? Sensor? I'm newbie when dealing with DTC.

Then that leaves either wiring problems from the output of the PCM module to cooling fan relay #1 and from the relay to the cooling fan or an internal PCM issue.

Update:
I tested the AC, the AC ran and both fan 1 and fan 2 worked. The car ran without shutting off. But another problem arise AC shuts down (fade away) it only works when it wants to. Back to the fans , can the problem be caused by the cooling switch?
