The Toyota manual has the caution note below in the manual regarding the removal of a battery. Does this just mean to wait 90 seconds after turning off ignition to LOCK before disconnecting the negative cable?

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from
the time the ignition switch is turned to the ’LOCK’
position and the negative (–) terminal cable Is discon–
nected from the battery.

No, it means that you must wait at least 90 seconds after the negative terminal is disconnected and ignition is turned off before you work on the air bags (or whatever). Apparently there are capacitors in the system that are kept charged by the battery and they must discharged before the air bags are disarmed.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to check out my starter relay and starter and was puzzled why this particular warning was in that section of the manual.
