can you figure this out?berettaman200 10-02-2008, 07:29 PM Ok my mlibu has been sitting all summer and i went to start it yesterday and the blower does not work. I took it out and it was all rusted from water damage. Ok fair enough I get a new one. I plug in the new fan and it still dosent work. All fuses are good, the relay is good. Tested the motor with a batter charger and it runs. I took out the resistor that i replaced last year and it looks brand new. I tested it with a multi meter and it beeps on only a few contacts. I even used the multi meter on the connector to the blower and it read current when I turned it on. I noticed that on speeds 345 they read the same number on the meter. i just dont know what is going on. It should work. What else could it be? maxwedge 10-02-2008, 08:11 PM Explain what this water damage issue is. BTW what year is the car? berettaman200 10-02-2008, 10:22 PM Water got in through the air cowell under the wipers where the fan motor sits. Somehow the water gushed right through the fan until there was a huge puddle on the passenger floor. This is a 99 malibu. stripe 10-02-2008, 11:51 PM Water got in through the air cowell under the wipers where the fan motor sits. Cheers Stripe berettaman200 10-03-2008, 04:20 PM no i dont think the switch is the problem. When I used a multimeter it actually changed voltage when i went through the different settings so that tells me its still good. Scrapper 10-03-2008, 04:30 PM setting that long look at your wires mice and squrrals like to eat wires. so trace your wires down see if thats what happened? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
