After seeing Steve's Cordoba a few years ago, I always wanted to build the one I had in the stash. Well here we are.

The kit is put out by the Racing 43 mob. It is from their 'Big' range in 1/24.
For a full metal kit, I found it fairly easy. Easier than a resin one. Most of the decals were no problem even though a bit thick. One thing was the door plates, these showed the underlying colours. Used some plain white decal paper underneath which helped to solve the problem.

The instructions did ask for the wheels to be white, however photos show they ran silver wheels, both the 5 spokes and 18 spokes. Gardemeister had a few more sponsors to he normal factory cars.

Absolutely brilliant. How are these 1/24 R43 kits to work with? I have always thought about one (we owned a Fiat Punto while in the UK, so...) and seeing yours makes it even more tempting. Congrats again on another stunner.

Potsie, I found it a fairly easy build. Same sort of preparation as a resin build without the need to protect yourself from inhaling the resin dust. Used the Tamiya grey primer. The only thing you do need to take care is to not chip the paint.

I have been building a few 1/43 resin and metal kits which taught me the basics for this build.

Very nice result.Which yellow did you use for the body..?? I think when I built mine a while back I used a Ford colour, or was it a Fiat colour.?? Not sure, but it always looked a little too yellow, yours looks richer in tone, hard to describe but a bit more golden/chrome yellow, more like the real one I think.
Anyway whichever it looks good on the model, very nice work :thumbsup:

Steve, I used a Ford colour - 'Golden Wattle' as a base and then Tamiya Yellow TS16 over the top. Since the Tamiya yellows are so thin, I have been using automotive yellows as a base (just pick the closest one to what I want as the finished colour). Therefore the golden tone from the Ford yellow shows through.

Looking at Mikezibit's photo, that Cordoba is a brighter yellow than other Cordoba shots I have seen.

I'm not a super fan of those Big24 kits but they're not so bad: they're very simple and not so detailed (also for a curbside) but proportions and lines are often good (and not to mention that you buy something very HAVY!!! :D there's some satisfaction to take in a hand a Lancia Stratos that weight like ALL the model you got in the shelf :D) : a good base for any detail job.

Very nicely built Seat, where did you get this ev. 2 version, I just bought ev. 1 version (neste rally 98, RAC 98) and I have ever heard about 1:24 ev.2 , I have only seen 1:43 model.

Nice work, it's always great to see a rally car!
