95 Cougar 4.6 V8 - Where is the reset on the fuel pump?needcarhelphci 09-28-2008, 11:52 PM During hurricane Ike, the car was driven for 9 hours to evacuate. Now the radiator fan went out and was replaced because fan was not turning. Oil and water were getting hot. NOW 83 yearold father said replace waterpump - did. Now no fuel pumping. Is there a reset button or trick to reset the fuel pump? PLEASE HELP, IKE EVACUEE...NO MONEY. rhandwor 09-29-2008, 09:24 AM Check the power distribution panel near the drivers side strut tower. Look at the relays and put your finger on top of it have somebody try and start the car. You should feel it click if you don't replace it. If short on cash try a scrapyard. Look at relays for other items if the same size as a fan relay try this if it starts you will be sure. Check the fuses a blown fuse will shut off the fuel pump. Use a 12 volt test light and check for voltage to the pump. If you have 12 volt replace the pump. Reply with what you find. JR Tigerstar 09-29-2008, 09:38 AM Now no fuel pumping. The red button needs to be pushed down. If it's popped up, the fuel pump won't run. Be sure you have gasoline in the tank. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
