Daytona Problems

I just bought a 91 daytona.....and what a nice little car it is.In fact its so clean in side and seems to run great Im gonna get it resprayed....lol.

ok I have some questions.

1. the left hand indicater winks at a fast rate, the right wink normal.No lamps out though. Any ideas?

2.Are the little red door lights meant to come on when the door opens, I know I could look but its been raining sinse I bought the car so......lol.

3.I had a problem with the dash board lights going out andthe winkers not working, tapping the dashboard seemed to cure this. I took the top bit off and noticed the plug in connector. I made that a bit more of a better fit and the problem seemedto go away. But it still feels loose. Any ideas on a way to make the connection a bit better.

4.This car seems pretty quick off the get go.....any way I can check out if anything has been done to it, chip numbers , disconnected limiters anything like that......

5.the other day the oil gauge was sitting in the middle position, yesterday it had dropped a segment. Today it was back in the middle position....its not moving it just stays in the position it settles in.....any ideas.......

6. The petrol low light comes on when the gauge is showing one segment ,,,,is this meant to be like that? is the last segment reserve?..

7.the car has an alpine cd tuner.....was this standard.....?....anyone got an owners manual for it.......cda-d853....i cant figure out what half the buttons do......

Check the Marker light bulb on the front fender, it is supposed to blink with the turn signals and alternate flash when the lights are on. Bulb probably needs replaced. It is possible one of the bulbs are not the correct number in the circuit, that can cause an erratic flash between sides. Your Owners Manual or a parts store will tell you what the correct numbers the bulbs should be.

Other than finding the previous owners and asking them, or finding a known stock model with the same drivetrain as yours for a comparison check, it's hard to say.

If it does read zero then I'd consider that as normal. If it still reads pressure, the pressure sender is bad and needs replaced.

6. The petrol low light comes on when the gauge is showing one segment ,,,,is this meant to be like that? is the last segment reserve?.. Yes, the low fuel light will come on when there is 2 gallons left in the tank or 1 segment on the guage.

No. They came standard with a Chrysler Radio/Tape Deck, and had an optional Chrysler Infinity Radio/Tape Deck/Speaker System. You should be able to download a owners manual for your Alpine at their website.
