97 voyaguer, cruise control, 3.0 litrechevyagain 09-28-2008, 06:53 AM Have 2 of these vehicles , one with cruise, one without. interested in installing cruise was told that the vehicles are wired for such. installed the under hood components and yes, those wires were there. Inside the vehicle, removed the centre of the wheel, the wheel, and the clock spring, unfortunatly, there were 3 wires missing in the plug for the clock spring. On the vehicle cruise was in, followed and found one went to the BCM. the others, am still following. Question is, has anyone ever done this before? any ideas how much more needs to be changed? Will continue and see what develops. Thanks Brian RIP 09-28-2008, 02:13 PM Never done it but, schematic says there is an input to the powertrain control module from the transmission control module (PCM,TCM). I'm guessing that's the speed reference input. Then there's the brake switch cut out. coalminer 09-28-2008, 10:27 PM Have 2 of these vehicles , one with cruise, one without. interested in installing cruise was told that the vehicles are wired for such. installed the under hood components and yes, those wires were there. I just installed the modulator under the hood, and changed the clockspring and installed the buttons in the steering wheel. The only thing on the 97 there might be another relay for the cruise under the hood. chevyagain 10-03-2008, 06:28 PM I have never done this with a 97, but I did install cruise on a 95 that didnt have it and it worked just like it should. I did eventually chase the wires in the vehicle I was taking it out or, the wires that were missing, 1 was a ground and the other went to a junction right beside the gas pedal. Theer are 2 blocks there and the red one was the one the wire went in at terminal number 21. After installing the switches, everything worked as it should, Thanks Brian vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
