View Full Version : Hasegawa Porsche 962C Advan Hasegawa Porsche 962C Advan mach1_2003 09-27-2008, 11:21 PM Paint is Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red and TS-14 Black, cleared with Tamiya TS-13Clear and then polished. The kit wheels are molded in white plastic so I sprayed them black then sprayed SpazStix Ultra Mirror Chrome (from a rattle can) over the black to get the polished aluminum rim look. Kit decals, etc... The decals and the TS-49 are a close match but not perfect. If I had it to do over I would mask and paint the red/black stripes on the body. Thanks for looking... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Completed%20Model%20Cars/Porsche%20962C%20ADVAN/Picture017.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Completed%20Model%20Cars/Porsche%20962C%20ADVAN/Picture019.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Completed%20Model%20Cars/Porsche%20962C%20ADVAN/Picture021.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Completed%20Model%20Cars/Porsche%20962C%20ADVAN/Picture023.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Completed%20Model%20Cars/Porsche%20962C%20ADVAN/Picture026.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Completed%20Model%20Cars/Porsche%20962C%20ADVAN/Picture027.jpg Lownslow 09-27-2008, 11:56 PM i wish this style of car came back to racing those were some exiting races klutz_100 09-28-2008, 03:11 AM Lovely build  A simple livery and all the more striking for it IMO "wikerbill "?!?! LOL Thanks for the new word! I need to Google that one ;) Also the SpazStix (don't like that name much :( ) chrome looks very impressive! How does it compare to Alclad in your opinion? jaykay640 09-28-2008, 06:53 AM Nice and clean build. I like it! For coming out of a rattle can that chrome finish is impressive. Robi J 09-28-2008, 07:21 AM Nice and clean build. I like it! For coming out of a rattle can that chrome finish is impressive. Yessss, exactly what I was thinking  Robi p9o1r1sche 09-28-2008, 09:17 AM Nice looking results, Eric. The finish on the rims look great in the pics. NissanSkylineGTR98 09-28-2008, 09:40 AM Excellent! I love the advan livery and colour scheme. mach1_2003 09-28-2008, 10:24 AM Thanks everyone... Wickerbill... aka... Gurney Flap. I would say based on what I've seen Alclad II is more "chrome like" than this paint, however, if this paint were sprayed through an airbrush where it could be controlled better my result may have been more chrome looking. Sprayed out of a spray can the paint went on somewhat heavy, as expected, and it buffed out like you would a Testors Metalizer. I'm sure that's not the intent but it worked out that way for me. Here's the paint I used (they do make it in small bottles for airbrush use). It's convenient because it's in a rattle can. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/justdande/Picture035.jpg tonioseven 09-28-2008, 11:04 AM Terrific work on the whole thing but that Advanlivery is a winner to me! :sunglasse DerXL 09-28-2008, 12:29 PM Great looking car. I really like the paintjob. Looks smooth as a mirror. And as others already mentioned, it's a great livery. It's always nice to see a different and rare livery. dmacb 09-28-2008, 09:18 PM A fine clean build. generationx 09-30-2008, 11:47 AM The Hasegawa Group C series were excellent, fun-to-build kits and you've done this one perfectly. I think I still have this, or the Kenwood version, lurking somewhere too. mrawl 10-01-2008, 04:19 AM Gorgeous. Fantastic finishing work. I agree about spraying the stripes seeing as the sprayed red looks so good, but no probs, it's still excellent. jano11 10-01-2008, 06:39 AM Wonderful model! I like that car and I like the model every bit as much as the car! godfather23 10-01-2008, 12:03 PM Very nice. Simple but beautiful build. I really enjoy your chrome results...
