Help, loose hose 99 Sentra, Pictures inside.

I just bought this car and just checking everything to see if I find something wrong. There is this hose that is just hanging there I want to know if any of you have a 99 Sentra 1.6 and can tell me where this hose is suppose to go,
The check engine light is on and I'm waiting for my OBD II code reader that is coming in the mail.

The pictures shows:

1: The hose that is just hanging,

2: there is this hole in a black box just above the hose don't know if I should connect it there.

3:shows the other end of the hose, I think goes to the transmition.

Or should I leave it like that.

Thats the vent hose for the transmission. leave it the way it is.
