95 maxima car alarm randomly goes off

So recently the car alarm system in my 95 maxima SE has been randomly going off in the mornings, for no reason. When I disarm it (no keyless, just old-fashioned locking/unlocking with the key) everything's fine, but sometimes it'll just go off again within the next hour or two. I've had this car for over a year only, and granted while I think there are some wiring problems and it seems to leak power during the cold winter months, I've never had the alarm randomly go off until now.
I am actually in central ohio so recently we've had some power line damage on my street from the hurricane ike storm aftermath, don't know if that might have anything to do with it...
Any thoughts?, I'm pretty new at this...

Not hurricane related -but- age related although moisture can play a part. Cleanup job for connectors, alarm module resolder or time to buy new alarm? see p.14 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507

You may have just gotten some moisture or gunk in the remote itself. Sometimes an old toothbrush can be used to clean the contacts on the remote's circuit board, but if not, the remote can be easily replaced.
