Im getting ready to ghange the oil in my 2000 pontiac montana whit 140000 miles on it but I will like to know what type of oil is better for my car. regular oil,high milege oil or synthetic because Im gohttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon5.gifinto keep my van for a :) wild

If I was in your situation, I'd use regular conventional oil and a good quality oil filter. Oil technology has improved over the last 10-15 years and the "regular" oil should do just fine for the protection package it has for your engine. Keeping your oil and filter changed on a regular schedule can greatly increase the life of your engine.

I would agree. Your engine is high mileage now and probably produces a fair amount of blow-by gases which can contaminate engine oil (and reduce its effectiveness) faster than in a newer engine.
So frequent oil changes (more frequent than in a newer car, ie every 3000 miles) is a good idea.
