Is it possible to place the motor from a 1993 eclipse in to the same year Ford Probe, and still have it run?

That may be true but I think we can infer that Denny wants to know if it's practical.
In this case, it is not practical. The swap is not a straight bolt - in. Much fabrication and engineering would be required to get the various systems hooked up and working, such as electrical, cooling, fuel, exhaust etc.

The Eclipse transmission is would have to accompany the engine (the Probe transmissio cannot be attached to the engine) and a lot of work would be required to fabricate engine mounts to hold the whole thing together.

If you want an Eclipse engine, it's best to buy and drive an Eclipse and sell the Probe. This would be cheaper than doing this swap.

The thing is I already have an eclipse engine, I actually have two. And two eclipse's. I was actually just wondering because the engin in the probe had a rod but through it and one of my eclipse engines is just a spare for me. I only need the body of that car. I just need to make sure I can put it in and make it work, to save both of us time and money. is it practical to do this? I have the engine and transmission.

Its only practical if you have lots of time, cash, and welding experience. You'll have to make custom engine and tranny mounts, as well as find half shafts that work and find a computer and wiring harness to hook to the engine. I wouldn't recommend the swap unless you really want a probe that took way too much work and has little value. Just get another Probe engine. You should be able to find one for under 400 bucks. Check car-part.com or Pull-A-Part.

Why not try to swap your spare engine for one you need?

You may at least save some money and a lot of install time by getting the right engine and dumping the one you don't need.

Most efficiently, you could privately sell your engine for max dollars, then buy the one you need at the wreckers.
