What pulley is the tension pulley on the belt. I thought it was the small one near the front of the vehicle. But it did not budge when I put a wrench on it. I wanted to find out for sure before I put more force on it. 128,000 miles original belt thought maybe it was just stuck and needed a little more persuisen That last word is not spelled correctly. Thanks

That is it, that is the tensioner. The pully on mine locked up at around 140,000 miles, replaced the tensioner and good to go. The harmonic balancer bit the dust not much later and now have a new hb, tensioner, and Napa (built by Gates) serpentine belt. Also recommend the Goodyear Gatorback serp. belt.

if you follow the serp belt from the alternator down you will see the tensioner.take a 3/8s drive ratchet put it in the mode that loosens a bolt. right in front of the tensioner pully you will find a hole made for the ratchet drive ,have the ratchet handle straight below the pulley as you can get it as you pull the tensioner toward you with the ratchet the belt will loosen. when it gets loose enough slip the belt off the alternator pully then let the tensioner go back down. slip the belt off the other pullies you should have a belt diagram on the by the powersteering resivoir. take your time and get the belt on all the pullies except alternator. then grab the ratchet and pull the tensioner toward you and slip the belt on the alternator. then let off the ratchet.now with a light make sure the belt is on all the pullies the correct way and centered on the pullies.the picture of the tensioner above is flopped the pully will be on the bottom.
