97 Pontiac Transport Head cracked

I have a 97 Pontiac Trans Sport, 3.4 engine The back or right head is cracked, I have it pulled off my question is are the heads reversible? Or do I have to get one off the same side of another motor? It is sooo hard to get to. Thanks for any help.

I'd think they are the same but best to be sure & dealership should know.

Do the heads have casting numbers on them? Are they the same?

i will check the casting numbers on them,I just pulled the back or right side head. If I have to pull one off another engine to replace mine with it would be a lot faster to to pull the front head. I will check with a dealership. Thank for both reply

I'd get 2 or more opinions. Just bought a part recently at a dealership & folks I talked to didn't understand what the part was about.

One of the fans got again the Radiator, rubbing holes in 3 cores, I tried adding water to get it home until one of the back spark plugs popped out, still got to hot. I was about 50 miles from home, and forgot I belong to AAA,
a very dumb move, still had to have it towed in. The crack ran from the intake valve to the plug.

I replaced both heads, and they are reversible. after checking around most GM 1996 and up 3.4 and 3.1 are the same heads. One head wasn't cracked but had a bad gasket, and leak around the exhaust valves. Running great.
