new to the club, looking for help, 96 v8 300,000k. rough idle, stalls at idle, stinks while ilding. at low speed ( 20 kph) info certre says 52 to 99 l/per 100 km. no engine light. local shop said might be a fuel pump issue. the only reason i ask the question is they didnt sound very sure of the diagnoses. any advice would be great thanking any and all in advance

EGR Valve that's what it was on my car

i would think it was catalatic converter if your smelling a rotten egg like smell. also like he said could be egr..

my car had the same problems as yours a while ago. Once I got a new EGR Valve, it ran like new.

i thank you all for your interest but unfotunatly i pulled the fuel pump first. i ordered a new pump only off Ebay (BIG MISTAKE) and have been waiting about 2 weeks for delivery. after i replace the pump i will try your sugestions if needed. thanks guys i will keep tou updated.
